Due to the recent theft, it is with heavy hearts that we are closing down Epic Toronto. The theft has forced us into a position from which we are unable to recover from.
When we started this company four short years ago, we had just a couple of cameras and a goal to make rental equipment affordable for independent filmmakers like ourselves. We knew the struggles of maxing out credit cards for rental deposits, we understood how having access to tools would help creativity flourish. It’s been wonderful to see so many people grow over the years, and we’re so honoured to have been a small part of that. We wanted to help build a community.
We did the best that we could. Every cent that came in, went back into buying more equipment.
I wish I could thank everyone who gave us a chance personally. Everyone who dealt with us only being available at certain times. Everyone who dealt with gear not working right and needing us to troubleshoot over the phone, or even come meet you on location. Everyone who met us in the lobby of our first building to come down to our tiny glass-enclosed office. Everyone who ventured down our weird little cavernous hallway at a building with no parking when we moved for the first time. As well as everyone who helped us get to the point that we could renovate an old mechanics garage and have a great space we could call our own. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Nothing that we were able to accomplish was possible without you, and we are truly humbled by that.
Thank you for everything, and have a great shoot this weekend.
